Established in 1952, our Kindergarten is housed in a building of great historical significance. Its original structure features soaring high ceilings and is adorned with stunning, heritage-listed murals. These murals were painted and gifted to the kindergarten by George Browning, a renowned war artist, in 1952.
Over the years, extensive additions have been made to enhance the space. Today, we are proud to offer two separate, fully equipped classrooms that provide ample learning opportunities for our students. Additionally, we have updated bathrooms and children's facilities to ensure their comfort and safety. Our kitchen has also undergone a full renovation and is now fitted with new appliances.
Apart from its aesthetic appeal, the mural on display holds significant historical meaning for the people of Heathmont. It serves as a valuable reminder of our community's past and commemorates the artistic legacy of George Browning. As such, it is an invaluable educational resource for our students and visitors, serving as a visual representation of our shared history and provide a unique opportunity for students to connect with their roots.
